Herbalist, Naturopath and Iridologist Adam Smith is dedicated to helping everyone share in humanity's birthright: vibrant health.
What does this mean? Simply that our bodies want to be well! Given the appropriate food and clean water, access to a safe and non-toxic environment, regular exercise and an appreciation of the Universe around and within us, we cannot fail to be healthy. This is easier said than done in the modern world.
For Adam, the goal of the Natural Health Practitioner is to guide people along the path to wellness, to educate them in the principles of health – and then to joyfully release their hand.
After gaining a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from Imperial College London, Adam spent a decade working in various forms of pharmaceutical marketing. This time was an education in itself, leading him to the conclusion that the pharma-led model of healthcare is far from ideal. His search for gentler forms of healing, more suited to our physiology and evolutionary history, led him to Herbal Medicine and Naturopathy.
After 5 years of study, he received his degree-level diplomas in Herbal Medicine and Naturopathy from London's College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2014. He obtained his Iridology diploma 2 years earlier, in 2012.
Adam is a member of the Association of Master Herbalists, and is their representative on an ongoing UK governmental working group on Herbal Practitioner and product regulation.
